June 2025 Releases

Sizer Sprint Release Announcement (30 June 2025)

Hello Sizer Users,

We’re thrilled to announce the rollout of our latest Sizer enhancements from the June 2025 sprints! This release brings significant improvements across performance, scalability, customization, and cloud integrations, empowering you to size your Nutanix solutions with even greater precision and flexibility.

:sparkles:  Key Highlights:

1. AOS 7.3 Features

  • Higher Node Capacity Limits
    • 185TB per node for All-Flash with 1 or 6-hour RPO
    • 370TB per node for All-NVMe with 24-hour RPO
      • Supported on clusters deployed with AOS 7.3 or above
      • All nodes in the cluster must be >185TB per node
    • For more details, refer to Nutanix Configuration Maximums (link yet to be updated with 7.3 release)
  • Support for SR-IOV & Network Offload
    • Significantly boost VM performance and optimize resource utilization
    • Support is limited to on-prem, no support for NC2
    • For more information, refer to SR-IOV and Network Offload

2. Growth Factor at the cluster level

  • Future-proof your solutions by configuring customizable growth factors (YoY change)
  • Customize growth factor across compute, memory & storage
  • Support for multiple Growth factors across clusters (Example: Production vs ROBO)
  • The growth factor is added by default to each cluster with 0 values, enable/disable them individually or across all clusters, and even delete them as needed.

3. Expanded Files Workload Use Cases

  • 8 new cases added under the Files workload. Just to name a few – Rapid Restore, Streaming Video, Healthcare PACS and AI/ML.
  • Simplified sizing via generic parameters – Total Storage and Throughput requirements
  • The new use cases, along with the simplified sizing, should help in quick sizing and capturing the Files market share.
  • Simplified sizing is also expanded to use cases supported earlier – Home Directories & Video Surveillance use cases
  • New use cases and generic parameters are in “beta”. If you have any feedback, please pass it on and we will work on addressing it.

4. NC2 Updates

  • Expanded Multi-Cloud Storage (MST) Support: MST now supports Azure Blob, in addition to AWS EBS and Nutanix Objects.
  • Elastic SAN Support for NC2 on Azure Sizing.
  • NC2 on Google Cloud: Sizing support is now available starting with z3-metal. Quoting is currently disabled during Early Access, GA is planned for the end of CY25.

:heavy_plus_sign: Other Enhancements

  • Optimized Objects Worker Node Selection: Sizer now auto-selects Objects Worker Node types (hybrid vs. all-flash) based on cost optimization.
  • Standalone Self-Service & Prism Central Sizing: New workload support for Standalone Self-Service.
  • Improved Guardrails: We’ve added new guardrails to prevent invalid configurations related to Cisco Networking and Management modes.
  • NDB Licensing Updates: Support for core-based licensing for the NDB platform and vCPU-based licensing for add-on licenses.
  • Support for new CO model Dell XC660xs-4S @prabhu.punniamurthy
  • AWS i3.metal Transition: AWS i3.metal moved to manual mode (EOS within 18 months – Dec 2026)
